In between Seaford Head and the Martello Tower are 60 beach huts, 10 of which are currently Council-owned and available to lease to Seaford residents. Their location is ideal with the beach just a stone's throw away, a kiosk and toilets adjacent, plenty of parking nearby and the town centre a ten-minute walk away.

Due to the high desirability of the beach huts they are usually all occupied, however any Seaford residents wishing to place their name on the waiting list or gain further details should contact Seaford Town Council on 01323 872 975 or facilities@seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk

DEVELOPMENT:

In March 2017 the Council adopted the Seafront Development Plan, which includes an additional 60 beach huts to be installed on the seafront (along the Bönningstedt Parade) in stages over the next three years to 2020. It is planned that these will be a mixture of huts to be sold and others retained for rental, with short-term rentals also available. In order to fund the first phase of these exciting works, two of the original 12 Council-owned huts have been sold. Executive Chalets will also be introduced in the third year of the plan, again at the Bönningstedt (western) end of the promenade, in the vicinty of the planned new Bönningstedt concession and toilet units. 

The first two beach huts (above) were installed during week commencing 24th July 2017 and have been followed by two each week until the first twenty to be sold were in place. 

The huts will afford a wonderful, unobstructed view out across Seaford bay – the raised balcony is the perfect place to sit and watch yachts heading out from the sailing club and the ferry embarking on its daily journey across The Channel. Manufacturing has been to the highest standard possible, and a low-level defence wall will be constructed later this year to stop the spread of shingle from the beach ensuring access will always be clear. Unlimited free parking is available in the immediate vicinity.
