Further to the Bönningstedt Beach Huts being welcomed to Seaford seafront, the next phase of this aspect of Seaford Town Council’s Seafront Improvement Plan is to create a gabion wall running the length of the huts.

At 0.7 metres high and 60 metres long, the wall will not only provide protection for the huts from the elements (of which there are plenty of Seaford’s stretch of coast!) but also be a new decorative feature for this area, in a way that is sensitive to the natural beauty of Seaford’s promenade.

For those not familiar with a gabion wall – this is mesh cage forming the shape of the wall, filled with stones or cobbles, as has been used on the outside of the lower floors of The View at Seaford Head Golf Course.

The Town Council would now like to invite applications to tender for the project, which it is hoped will be carried out around October 2021.

The full tender documents and application forms are available to download from the Contracts & Tenders web page from Monday 2nd August 2021. Submissions will need to be returned by noon Friday 10th September 2021.

If you are interested in applying for the contract and would like further information please get in touch via email tony.jackson@seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk or telephone 07519 121454.
