The Town Council has been regularly monitoring the situation regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) both locally and nationally. Following the announcement made by the national Government on 12th July 2021 and the roadmap to exit from lockdown, the following arrangements are in place:
The View at Seaford Head
The further easing and removal of Covid-19 restrictions has come as welcome news to The View, which is now able to welcome back functions in addition to its daytime food and drink custom and golfers.
The View will continue to operate some of the service changes adopted since re-opening, including the ability to order from outside, indoor table service and a spacious layout within the indoor restaurant area.
The View is actively encouraging the wearing of face coverings when indoors and staff are encouraged to wear one, particularly when inside is busy. e NHS Track & Trace code will remain active and customers are asked to sign in upon arrival.
If you have any questions or would like to make a booking, please call 01323 890139 (option 3) or email to email@example.com . A member of staff will respond to your enquiry as soon as possible. Any bookings are subject to restrictions that may be in place and the Government has been clear that it may reintroduce restrictions if required.
The View wishes to thank all its loyal customers for their support in these difficult times and looks forward to welcoming customers back.
The View’s current opening hours are:
Mondayto Thursday 8.00am – 5.00pm (food until 4pm, bar orders until 4.30pm)
Friday 8.00am – 8.00pm (food until 6pm, bar orders until 7.30pm)
Saturday 7.00am – 8.00pm (food until 6pm, bar orders until 7.30pm)
Sunday 7.00am – 6.00pm (food until 5pm, bar order until 5.30pm)
Seaford Head Golf Course
Seaford Head Golf Course is open. While there are no Covid-related rules on play, certain measures are in place to ensure consideration is given to the health and safety of both the golfers themselves and the Pro Shop staff:
- Pro-Shop will be open however it is asked that MASKS ARE WORN inside
- Bookings must be made in advance
- All facilities are open
- Group bookings and visitors welcome
Please check the website for updates on restrictions.
Please contact the Golf Professional, Fraser Morley, with any questions regarding the Course or rules of play on 01323 890 139 (option 1) or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Town Council Facilities and Concessions
Public toilets, playgrounds, car parks, public spaces, and outdoor sporting facilities are open.
All concessions are now able to open and will make individual decisions on how to interpret the Government’s guidelines on Covid-19 measures that could continue. The Town Council supports its concessions in ensuring the safety and comfort of their staff and customers.
Town Council Events and Events on Town Council Land
The use of Town Council land for events is permitted, only once a COVID-specific risk assessment has been considered and approved with the open spaces application. The Town Council is committed to working with event organisers to encourage community events within the town, recognising the benefit these bring to the town, its residents and visitors.
The Town Council is beginning planning for the Seaford Christmas Magic 2021 event, assessing options available and ensuring plans can be adapted, as best possible, should Covid-19 restrictions be reintroduced later this year.
Town Council Meetings
Town Council meetings returned to being held physically from May 2021. Until the end of August 2021, meetings will be held in the auditorium at Seaford Baptist Church. This is due to its large space and equipment available to enable the Town Council to accommodate members, officers, and a limited number of members of the public – all whilst still being able to welcome those unable to attend in person via Zoom and those wishing to watch but not take part via livestream on the Town Council YouTube channel.
Meeting arrangements for September 2021 onwards will be informed in due course. The details of any meetings are shared on the Town Council’s website and also issued by email to registered recipients (sign up for these by emailing email@example.com).
Town Council Projects
Following the decision of the Town Council in 2020 to cease non-urgent projects immediately until further notice, work is now underway with certain projects that have been identified as a priority over the coming year.
This includes the 2021 Summer Plan, within which the Town Council has identified projects to undertake to best benefit from the anticipated increase in visitor levels to the town this summer, as the nation is bracing itself for a ‘staycation boom’.
The Town Council are also taking forward key work in response to Climate Emergency, from reducing use of mains water, to supporting native ecology and working with community groups on use of green spaces.
To stay up to date with the Town Council’s project work and activities, be sure to look at its Facebook page, website or sign up to email updates (as above).
Town Council Offices
The Town Council Offices were closed to members of the public in March 2020 until Government guidance changed. Heeding the Government’s advice on 12th July 2021 of a gradual return to work, the offices will continue to remain closed until decisions have been made regarding working arrangements within the teams and any possible continuation of part home working.
Officers continue to carry out their normal duties from home and the telephones are switched to the voicemail system, which is monitored throughout the day, with officers equipped to return calls where necessary.
Anyone visiting the shared building at 37 Church Street is encouraged to wear face coverings whilst in the shared reception areas.

The Town Council will continue to communicate with the community via social media, the Town Council website, email and by telephone where necessary. In general, the Town Council will be following Government guidelines on limiting social contact and in trying to prevent any further spread of the virus. All measures above are therefore subject to change as deemed necessary and this guidance will be updated as necessary.
The Town Council will do all we can to share information necessary or helpful to the community regarding COVID-19.
All at Seaford Town Council thank you for your patience and support during this time.
