Starting this week, the old seafront information signage from Splash Point to the East Arm at Newhaven will be removed and replaced by new and improved signage. The new signs are larger, clearer to read and include important and useful information such as –
- Safety advice, with a detailed map
- Points of interest
- Lifeguard information
- Bylaws (e.g. dog ban information)
- Location of sign (for reference in an emergency)
The signs were created collaboratively by Seaford Town Council, Lewes District Council, the Environment Agency, Seaford Lifeguards and Newhaven Port Authority.
The existing life rings will also be replaced with new and improved design life rings attached to the backs of the new signs.
The Town Council would like to remind the public that on the advice of their governing body, Surf Lifesaving GB, Seaford Lifeguards will not be patrolling Seaford Beach at this current time.
The Town Council therefore urges people to use Seaford beach responsibly whilst there is no lifeguard cover. For more information about reduced facilities in the town please see the Town Council’s website below -
