Seaford Town Council will be hosting this year’s extravaganza on Saturday 3rd December from 10 am – 5 pm in Seaford town centre.

The event will combine the evocate sounds and smells of Christmas with entertainment and attractions for all residents of Seaford and beyond to enjoy.

Live music will be ringing out from the Tansley performance stage in the middle of Broad Street, with Shannon Victoria hosting an exciting and eclectic mix of vocalists, musicians, and other contemporary performances, keeping the joyful Christmas spirit upbeat with a whole range of singing styles. Christmas Magic unplugged is being hosted within St Leonards Church, starting the day at 10 am with ‘Messy Church’ followed by acoustic music, choral music, and songs.

The street market stalls will be found this year in Broad Street and High Street. Why not enjoy some street food and mulled wine from stalls and business premises alike, to warm you up whilst enjoying the fantastic live entertainment? Make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to grab some Christmas presents from the market stalls with festive goodies! Be proud to support your local community and peruse the goods in the local shops too!

For families with young children, Seaford Library will be hosting Storytime at 11 am & 2 pm, 30 minutes sessions. No booking is required but spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. A family’s hub is being held at Life Church from 12-3 pm, with fun and free Christmas activities including face painting and a nerf gun shoot range. Seaford Youth Forum are holding a stall with Christmas Biscuits to decorate and take away with you on the day. Their stall can be found in the High Street. Seahaven FM will be open throughout the day, offering the chance to experience a live radio station and, a chance to enter a draw to win a Roberts Radio!

Look to the Stars with lantern-making workshops at the Mercread Youth Centre with SCIP (Sussex Contemporary, Illustrators & Printmakers), from 10 am – 3.30 pm. Glow in the dark paper, tapes and collages will transform the lanterns into shooting stars and planets - rockets and stardust here we come!

Even if it is not possible to join the lantern parade at the end of the day, do pop along and make a lantern for free. The Lantern Parade is a highlight of the day, for both the children taking part and the onlookers. Archway Choir will start the celebrations of the Christmas Light switch on at 4 pm with singing of Christmas carols at the top of Broad street, whilst the Earthquake Drummers will begin their drum rudiment at the top of the High Street, letting partakers of the Lantern Parade line up, to travel down the High Street, turning right up Broad Street, where they will meet the Mayor of Seaford and Rotary’s Father Christmas at the top of Broad Street who will turn on Seaford’s Christmas Lights at 4.45 pm

To top off an exciting day, sit back and relax at the Barn Theatre where Seaford Community Cinema will be showing Encanto, a PG-rated film for all the family to enjoy. Booking advised. For this event to be delivered Seaford Town Council have arranged for Road Closures to be put in place from 5 pm on Friday 2nd December 2022 to 12 Midnight on Saturday 3rd December 2022, for Broad Street and Upper High Street.

Seaford Town Council encourages travel to the town centre by foot, cycle, or public transport where possible. For those shopping trips that do require a car, Lewes District Council has generously arranged for free parking in four of its Seaford car parks for the day of Christmas Magic, Saturday 3rd December 2022. The Seaford car parks included are located in Saxon Lane, Sutton Road, Richmond Road and West Street.
