The Town Council has continued to regularly monitor the situation regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) both locally and nationally. Following the announcement made by the national Government in January 2022 relaxing certain measures, the following provides an overview of the COVID-19 measures that are being observed with the Town Council’s activities:

The View at Seaford Head

The View offers its customers a spacious and well-ventilated venue, with the reassurance that COVID-19 safety measures are in place to ensure everyone’s comfort.

The View continues to operate some of the service changes adopted since re-opening in the summer, including indoor table service and a spacious layout within the indoor restaurant area.

The View invites the continued wearing of face coverings when indoors and staff are encouraged to wear one. e NHS Track & Trace code remains active and customers are asked to sign in upon arrival.

Seaford Head Golf Course

There are no Covid-related rules on play at Seaford Head Golf Course; all facilities are open and group bookings and visitors are welcome.

Certain measures are in place to ensure consideration is given to the health and safety of both the golfers themselves and the Pro Shop staff, such as ready-available hand sanitiser for use by golfers. Masks are no longer a requirement but anyone wishing to wear one within the Pro Shop is welcome to do so.

Please check the Seaford Head Golf Course website for updates on restrictions.

Please contact the Golf Professional, Fraser Morley, with any questions regarding the course or rules of play on 01323 890 139 (option 1) or by email at

Town Council Facilities and Concessions

Town Council facilities and concessions are all operating normally. Certain aspects of good practice remain encouraged (an element of social distancing, regular hand washing, masks in busier indoor areas even if not mandated etc) and these will be advised accordingly.

Town Council Events and Events on Town Council Land

The use of Town Council land for events is permitted, only once a COVID-specific risk assessment has been considered and approved with the open spaces application. The Town Council is committed to working with event organisers to encourage community events within the town, recognising the benefit these bring to the town, its residents and visitors.

Town Council Meetings

Town Council meetings returned to being held physically from May 2021 in line with legislation. The agenda for each meeting sets out any COVID-safety measures in place for the meeting, including continued encouragement of masks being worn where people feel more comfortable doing so and a limit on the number of people able to attend in accordance with the meeting venue size.

The details of any meetings are shared on the Meeting Page and also issued by email to registered recipients (sign up for these by emailing

Town Council Projects

In 2020 the decision was taken to cease non-urgent projects until further notice, directly as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Project work was able to restart in early 2021 and the Town Council has been taking forward key work to meet its identified priorities.

The Town Council’s budget setting process for the 2022 – 2023 financial year (starting in April 2022) includes identifying key projects to undertake and drive forwards.

To stay up to date with the Town Council’s project work and activities, be sure to look at its Facebook page, website or sign up to email updates (as above).

Town Council Offices

The Town Council Office activities continue as normal, although officers have embraced the ability to do hybrid working – splitting time between the offices and home working.

Officers continue to carry out their normal duties and the telephones are switched to the voicemail system, which is monitored throughout the day, with officers equipped to return calls where necessary.

Anyone visiting the shared building at 37 Church Street is encouraged to wear a face covering whilst in the shared reception areas, should they wish to do so.
