At 2 pm hundreds of town criers and pearly kings and queens across the nation will herald a specially written proclamation signalling the lighting of the beacon later in the evening. Peter White, appointed Town Crier of Seaford having cried for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977 and one of the longest-serving Town Criers in the country will cry the Proclamation for Seaford at 2 pm at the Lych Gate of St Leonard’s Church, followed by a repeat of the cry in Broad Street, we invite everyone to be part of this historic moment to commence the Celebrations.
