Councillor Lindsay Stirton was elected Mayor for 2026-2027 with Councillor Rod Buchanan as his Deputy.

Mayor’s Charity
The Mayor’s chosen charity is Aspens.
Aspens provides high-quality care and support for people with learning disabilities and autistic people, helping them to live fulfilling, independent lives. Their services support children from the age of 8 through to adults aged 25 (for young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)).
Supporting more than 700 children, young people and adults, Aspens works alongside individuals and their families to build confidence, develop life skills and achieve greater independence. Their person-centred approach empowers people to realise their potential and pursue their goals.
In Seaford, Aspens supports local children and their families through holiday activities and family fun days, creating opportunities to learn, socialise and enjoy new experiences. They also provide community outreach services for adults, helping people to stay connected, build independence and take an active role in their local community.

Past Mayors
Each year at its Annual Meeting the Council must elect a Mayor as first point of business; the Mayor then serves in office for the Municipal Year (May to May).
The Council is lucky to have had such a variety of Mayors since its formation in 1999, each with their own aspirations for their time in office and with unswerving dedication to their roles. Often, as the Mayor, they would receive an invite to an engagement on a weekly basis, some weeks as special occasions there may even be three or four engagements – this is on top of their duties and responsibilities as a Councillor, and all carried out voluntarily.
The Council offers its gratitude to those former Mayors of Seaford:
