The streets of Seaford were alive with twinkling lights, joyful music, and the warm spirit of community. From dazzling decorations to delicious treats and family fun, this year’s Christmas Magic truly brought the holiday cheer to life.

Following the disappointing postponement of Seaford’s much-loved Seaford Christmas Magic event originally due to take place on 29 November 2025, the town could not have wished for better weather on its revised date of Saturday 13 December!
The winter sun shone in a beautiful blue sky and from start to finish the town was bustling with excited members of the public enjoying festive crafts, market stalls, delicious refreshments, entertaining performances and of course – a trip to Santa’s Grotto!
Crowds at the entertainment stage saw performances from Lake Academy of Dance, Midnight Resolution, Strum 4 Fun, Norcross Dance Centre, Rising Stars, Chyngton Primary School (Julie’s Art of Noise), Archway Choir and Rhapsody Artist Development.

Festive shoppers were spoilt for choice with a variety of market stalls available in Broad Street, Church Street and in St Leonard’s Church, as well as the town’s usual high street shops and organisations with decked out inviting shop windows.

The Seaford Christmas Magic Committee said: “We would like to thank all those who supported and participated in the event. A wonderful festive day was had by all, and it was so lovely to see the stalls and shops complimenting each other and encouraging people to shop local.”

In the lead up to the event, Seaford Contemporary Illustrators and Printmakers (SCIP) were flat-out running lantern-making workshops in schools and with local organisations and charities, and on the day of Seaford Christmas Magic at the Mercread Youth Centre to make captivating lanterns for the event’s much-loved lantern parade.

The lantern parade lit up the community-lined streets, led by the Mayor of Seaford, Cllr Maggie Wearmouth and Seaford Town Crier, Peter White, concluding up through Broad Street to the stage for the Christmas lights switch-on.

SCIP said: “We had a wonderful day on Saturday; it is always such a joy to greet and meet so many people from our community at the lantern workshops. Our work leading up to the parade has been incredible this year, working with schools, care homes, and community groups across Seaford where we see the positive impact of access to creativity first hand. We are grateful to partner with Seaford Town Council on the Christmas Magic Lantern Parade and are already planning 2026 and new ways of uniting our community through creativity!!!”

The Town Council would like to thank Seaford Chamber of Commerce, Seaford Town Market, Seaford Traders and all partners involved in organising this cherished community event as well as all of the generous sponsors whose contributions were invaluable in enabling this event to go ahead:

The Mayor of Seaford, Councillor Maggie Wearmouth said “Seaford Christmas Magic has been growing and evolving for many years. It is now the highlight of the town's Christmas calendar and is a community event that involves a year-round partnership between businesses, the Town Council and many others.

As I said in my speech at the event, there are too many people and organisations to thank individually. But the goodwill, generosity and sheer hard work put into this event is a marker of the energy and optimism of Seaford.

Thank you and Happy Christmas to all. It is an honour to be the Mayor of Seaford.”
