A decorative invitation to the King's Coronation

The Coronation of the King and Queen Consort will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023. The above invitation has been issued to over 2,000 guests who will form the congregation in Westminster Abbey. To find out more about the design of the invitation visit the Royal Family website by clicking here.

Saturday 6th May 2023

10-10.30am – Proclamation – Peter White, appointed Town Crier of Seaford, one of the longest-serving Town Criers in the country, will cry the Proclamation for Seaford at 10am at the Lych Gate of St Leonard’s Church, followed by a repeat of the cry in Broad Street and at Martello Tower – we invite everyone to be part of this historic moment to commence the Celebrations.

The Coronation Service – The Coronation of The King and The Queen Consort will take place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6th May 2023. More details of the Coronation Service can be found by clicking here.

The View at Seaford Head will be open as usual on this day but will be showing televised Coronation programmes for anyone wishing to come out and enjoy the Celebrations away from home with stunning views and a delicious menu available.

All Day – The Coronation Big Lunch and Street Parties at which neighbours and communities are invited to share food and fun together, will take place across the country, on Sunday 7th May 2023.

Please be aware of the following road closures in Seaford due to Coronation Street Parties:

High Street Seaford Street Party & Volunteer Workshops – streets affected: High Street Seaford from Bob’s Retro Market (no. 32) to junction with Crouch Lane

Headland Avenue King’s Coronation Street Party – streets affected: Headland Avenue Seaford, from the junction with Southdown Road to the junction with Arundel Road.

Cricketfield Road Coronation Street Party – streets affected: Cricketfield Road, Seaford, from the junction with Marine Crescent to the junction with The Covers.

Kingsmead Walk Coronation Street Party – streets Affected: Kingsmead Walk, Seaford, section from house numbers 20 to 28 inclusive.

Sandore Road King’s Coronation Street Party – streets affected: Sandore Road, Seaford (cul-de-sac section nos. 3-23 only).

Seaford Coronation Festival – 11am to 6pm at Martello Fields. This community event, supported by Seaford Town Council, is being organised by Miranda from Seaford Street Markets. This fun-filled day of celebration will include:

  • Children’s Parade
  • Dog Show
  • Performances
  • Games and Family Fun
  • Local Crafts and Food Stalls
  • Community Stalls
  • Hot and Cold Food
