The Town Council sends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the young person who has so tragically lost their life.
Mayor of Seaford, Councillor Maggie Wearmouth, has said “We are shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of a young life. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the victim. Our thanks go to all those in the emergency services who were involved last night”.
Detectives at British Transport Police (BTP) have launched a murder investigation and the Town Council urges anyone who may have witnessed what happened, or the lead up to it, to get in touch as you may have vital information which could help our investigation. Sussex Police have confirmed to Seaford Town Council that they will be out in the community speaking to members of the public.
Understandably, the station will remain closed while BTP continue enquiries in the area.
