Assets and Facilities Compliance Officer
Salary – £30,518pa – £32,597pa
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Seaford Town Council as an Assets & Facilities Compliance Officer. In this key role, you will lead and coordinate compliance activities across the Council’s diverse portfolio of properties, buildings, facilities, equipment and other assets, ensuring all statutory and regulatory obligations are met.
Working closely with the Assets and Contracts Manager, Operational Health and Safety Inspector, contractors and stakeholders, you will help ensure that the Council’s assets are safe, compliant, well-maintained and fit for purpose. This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance, facilities, property or asset management professional who is looking to make a meaningful impact within local government.
The successful candidate will have:
• Responsibility for maintaining and developing asset compliance records and registers.
• Oversight of statutory inspections, testing programmes and certification requirements.
• Experience identifying and addressing compliance risks, defects and hazards.
• The ability to coordinate contractors and monitor service delivery standards.
• Experience preparing reports, maintaining accurate records and supporting audits.
• A proactive approach to promoting safe and compliant working practices.
About You
You will be a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with experience in compliance, facilities management, property management or asset management. You will have a strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements and be comfortable working independently while maintaining positive relationships with colleagues, contractors and external stakeholders.
You will be confident interpreting legislation, regulations and technical reports, and have the ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing demands and ensure compliance deadlines are consistently met.
We’re looking for someone with the following essential requirements:
• Experience in property compliance, facilities management, asset management or local government operations.
• Knowledge of UK health and safety and property compliance legislation.
• Experience maintaining compliance records and managing inspections.
• Ability to interpret regulations and technical reports.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Sound risk awareness.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Experience producing accurate reports and maintaining detailed records
Desirably, we would like someone with:
• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
• Experience working within local government, parish councils or town councils.
• Knowledge of procurement and contractor management.
• Experience using asset management software
