Seaford Town Council announces the completion of a new water refill station in the East Martello Field.

SEAFORD 16th JUNE 2023 – The new water bottle refill station with integral tap in the East Martello Field is now fully installed and functioning. The new free-standing water station joins the five others that were installed in the town in 2021.

The serving Mayor of Seaford, Councillor Olivia Honeyman, said ‘Seaford Town Council has completed the installation of the water refill station, in the East Martello Field. Seaford has Plastic Free Community status, awarded by the marine conservation charity, Surfers against Sewage.  Please help reduce the use of single use plastic, use the water refill station to fill your water bottles. '

The installation coincides fittingly with World Refill Day, a global day of action to prevent plastic pollution and help people live with less waste.

The station includes a lockable integrated tap, which will be available for use by event holders, enabling them to access water onsite, rather than having to bring their own water that is often in a plastic vessel. The first event to benefit from this facility will be Armed Forces Day on Saturday 24th June.

The station is also available for sponsorship, details of which will follow.
