Seaford Town Council announces that pathway resurfacing work will begin in May, temporarily closing the play park for approximately two weeks.

SEAFORD, MONDAY 24TH April 2023 – Seaford Town Council announce that the pathway resurfacing works at The Salts Play Park, within The Salts Recreation Ground, will begin on Tuesday 9th May, prior to the May half term break. During this time the play park will be closed for approximately two weeks to ensure that the work is carried out safely and as efficiently as possible.

The current play park pathway is well worn, uneven and in a state of deterioration and disrepair. It is strewn with stones and gravel along its length which, when wet, churns up and moves about. This debris ends up on the mulch play areas, causing further damage.

Once completed, the resurfacing project will provide a new and robust tarmac surface of approximately 280m2, edged with concrete totalling approximately 245 linear metres. The new pathway will be relevelled, made safe and puddle free, and will improve the overall play park aesthetics as a whole.

The works were awarded to PlaySafe Playgrounds, and is part-funded through a successful bid from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
