Seaford Town Council Award Ground Maintenance Contracts
Seaford Town Council is delighted to announce the award of its new Grounds Maintenance Contracts following a competitive, rigorous and transparent tendering process.
SEAFORD, 22 January 2026 — From April 2026 to March 2029, with the option to extend to March 2031, the contracts will cover the care of the Town Council’s green spaces, including grounds maintenance, verge cutting and seasonal bedding. The appointed contractors are:
•Grounds Maintenance – Southern Land Services
•Verge Cutting – idverde
•Seasonal Bedding – idverde
For the first time, Seaford Town Council will manage the Grounds Maintenance Contracts directly. Previously, this work was delivered by Lewes District Council on the Town Council’s behalf. This new approach marks an important step forward in how the services are managed and will enable the Town Council to work more closely with contractors to deliver a more responsive service that reflects the needs of the community.
A spokesperson for Seaford Town Council said: “Seaford’s green spaces are at the heart of our community. They are places where people walk, relax, play and connect with nature. By managing this contract ourselves, this will allow us to have much greater scrutiny and control over our green spaces enabling us to take greater care of these spaces and ensure they continue to be enjoyed by residents of all ages.”
The new contracts also support the Town Council’s climate emergency objectives, helping to balance environmental responsibility with the day-to-day care of the town.
Seaford Town Council looks forward to working in partnership with Southern Land Services and idverde to keep Seaford looking welcoming and vibrant for residents and visitors alike.
